World Sleep Day: Take the “New Mantra” to Good Health!!

Happiness is waking up, looking at the clock & finding that you still have the last 10 more minutes to snooze off to sleep. Yes, I know that feeling. What would be the best day to talk about our favorite hobby ‘Sleeping to dream’ rather than World Sleep Day?

World Sleep Day is an annual event celebrated on Friday, yes, it is Friday as it comes close to a weekend, how better it could be? Jokes apart, it falls before the Spring Equinox each year. The motive of celebrating ‘World Sleep Day’ is to raise awareness of the importance of sleep and to promote better sleep habits and practices. The event was first organized in 2008 by the World Sleep Society, a non-profit organization that aims to advance sleep health worldwide. I think it could have been such a great thing to do. With so many people talking about wanting to sleep well but not being able to do so, this day has come out like a winner for all. Sleep issues have been a global problem now, earlier, it was an issue of old age and is now a problem for small children to even adolescent kids. Though all have reasons for not being able to fall asleep, still the problem needs to be assessed and emphasized to promote good sleep habits which can be sustainable & relatable. 

With this aim in mind just like each year, World Sleep Day has a different theme this year too which focuses on a specific aspect related to sleep health. The themes in previous years have included “Better Sleep, Better Life, Better Planet”, “Sleep Soundly, Nurture Life”, and “Sleep Well, Grow Healthy”. The theme for World Sleep Day 2023 is “Sleep is essential for good health”, which emphasizes how consistent sleep is essential for maintaining good & optimal health for all.  A global solution for a global problem.

So, World Sleep Day is celebrated around the world with events, seminars, and workshops conducted on sleep health and how it is the most important aspect of great health. Sleep experts and health professionals are emphasizing the benefits of sleep, the effects of sleep disorders, and tips for improving sleep quality. The goal of these events is to educate everyone about the importance of sleep and to provide the knowledge and tools to get better & harmonious sleep.

On World Sleep Day, let’s just relax and sleep like a baby if you want to have great health today, tomorrow, and forever. Sleeping well is the new mantra to good health, so just keep sleeping!!

Concept of Well-being

It is the experience of health, happiness, and prosperity. It includes having good mental health, high life satisfaction, a sense of meaning or purpose, and ability to manage stress.
Wellbeing is more than just full-filling the need of basic necessities (food, clothing & shelter), it comes after making appropriate choices and activities aimed at achieving physical vitality, mental alacrity, social satisfaction, a sense of accomplishment, and personal fulfilment, so in a nut-shell Wellbeing is ‘feeling good and functioning well’.

Well-being is a feeling of having high sense of self enjoyment, nothing can ever turn you down when your sense of wellness is very high and of course happiness comes in when you are well which is known as the sense of satisfaction & happiness, this is best done with a partner, a friend, a family or a companion close to You all the time. This relation and association lead to a positive sense of dependency and in turn a sense of responsibility towards yourself and others

मित्रहो, जेवणाबरोबरच जेवणाचे ठिकाण कसे असावे याचा सुध्दा विचार करणे तितकेच महत्वाचे असते. चला तर मग आज आपण भोजन स्थान या विषयाबद्दल थोडे जाणून घेऊ!

भोजनस्थान हे खालील गुणांनी युक्त असावे –
विजन :-
जेथे लोकांची जास्त वर्दळ नसेल असे ठिकाण भोजनासाठी योग्य असते, कारण अन्न 🍚🍲 व पाणी 🍶 यावर आपल्यावर 😡 द्वेष करणार्यांच्या दुष्ट भावनांचाही परिणाम होत असतो. तसेच आपण जेवत असताना कोणीतरी अचानक खाकरुन कफाचा बेडका 🤤 काढत असतो असे महाभाग तुम्हालाही
हाॅटेलात 🍽 दिसले असतील ज्यांना अजिबात सोसायटी 👨‍👨‍👧‍👦 मॅनर्स नसतात!

रम्य :-
निसर्गरम्य 🌳🎋🌾⛅ वातावरणात जेवणाची 🍛🍲 मजा काही औरच असते नि शेतात 🌱🌾🎋 कष्ट करुन सुर्य 🌤 डोक्यावर आल्यावर 🌳 झाडाखाली विसावा ⛺ घेऊन खाल्लेल्या चटणी, तेल, भाकरीची चव कित्येक वर्षांनी सुध्दा तो प्रसंग आठवताच 😋 जिभेवर जशीच्या तशी जाणवते. एखाद्या 🌷🍀☘🌿🌱 बागेत जेवताना जेवणाचा स्वाद 😋 खुपच रुचकर वाटतो नि एरव्हिपेक्षा चार घास जास्त जेवण सरते. पण ही बाग म्हणजे माॅडर्न अॅमिनीटीज मधली 🏡 नकली प्लास्टिकच्या हिरवळीचा गालिचा व शोभेच्या वनस्पती 🌲 व झुडुपांपासून बनवलेली नसावी बरं!

नि:सम्पात :-
जेवणाची जागा वरून झाकलेली ⛱ असल्यास उत्तम व 😺 मांजर वगैरे अचानक ताटातून काही उचलून नेणार नाही असे नि:शंक असावे.

पवित्र :-
जेथे कोणतेही कुकर्म होत नाही किंवा यापूर्वी झालेले नाही असे ठिकाण योग्य. कत्तलखाना, स्मशानभूमी, पूर्वी कोणाची हत्या झाली आहे किंवा कोणी आत्महत्या केली आहे अशी ठिकाणे वर्ज्य करावीत.

शुचि :-
जेवणाची जागा स्वच्छ असल्यास मन प्रसन्न 😊 राहते व अन्नावर छान रुची 😋 उत्पन्न होते.

सुगन्धपुष्परचित :-
दिवाळीत 🎆 दारात 🎑 रांगोळी व सुगन्धिपुष्पांनी 🌷💐🌸🌺🌼🌻 सजवलेली आरास नि पणत्या लावलेल्या असताना जेवायला छान वाटते ना!

सम देश :-
समतल जमिनीवर 🏕 न अवघडता व्यवस्थित जेवणाचा आनंद घेता येतो अन्यथा खडकाळ जमिनीवर पोतं / तरटं /सतरंजी इ. अंथरुन पंगतीत जेवणाचा अनुभव एव्हाना तुम्ही घेतला असेलच की!
